The Moo looked to even the five-game series with a win as the Thursday night contest would be a nail-biter.

The Moo got the scoring started in the 2nd inning when after his lead-off double, Michael Baker (Cal State-Chico) would later score on a Luke Saxton (Missouri-St. Louis) sac fly to put the Moo up, 1-0. The Moo would go up two because of a balk call that would score Preston Gajewski (NOC-Tonkawa) to make it 2-0 Moo.
The Sasquatch would threaten in the 5th with a run to cut the lead in half. But the Moo would respond with a two-run 6th to chase Spearfish starter, Evan Luke (Central Missouri) out of the contest. Luke Saxton would once again come through with an RBI single for one run and Preston Gajewski would bring home another to make it 4-1 Moo.
Spearfish looked to cut the lead in half again and after the 7th-inning stretch, they would with an Ethan Mooser (Northern Colorado) RBI single. 4-2 Moo still in front.
The Moo would answer in the top of the 8th. Preston Gajewski would bring home a run with an RBI double to make it 5-2. The Moo would strand the bases loaded as Joshua Hardamon (Midland) would fly out to end the inning.
Spearfish would put on the pressure in the 8th. One run would come in on a bases-loaded walk allowed from Tyler Dunham (Midland). A sac fly would allow another run to come in to score. But Dunham would hunker down and get the final out, stranding two in scoring position. 5-4 Moo as it went to the 9th.
The Sasquatch would raise the blood pressure in the 9th with the tying run on third and the winning run on first when Dunham would slam the door shut to get the Moo their second win of the season.
Broc Songster (Doane) would have a spectacular season opener, going 6.2 innings, giving up 2 earned runs, walking 3, and striking out 5. It was the longest outing for a Moo starter in 2025 to date.
The Moo improved to a 2-2 record and currently sit three games back from the first-place Hastings Sodbusters. The Sasquatch fall to 2-5 on the season and remain in last place.
