
MainStreet of Fremont has announced details for its 2025 Concert in the Park Series.
The annual series is scheduled for Thursday nights in June as well as the Thursday before John C. Fremont Days (July 10). Fremont Parks and Recreation will be hosting children’s activities in John C. Fremont Park starting at 6:30 p.m. Music will begin at 7 and will run until about 9 p.m.
Various food vendors, including Sabor Costeno, Nick’s Street Eats and Scouty’s Shaved Ice will be available. On July 10th, Fuze it or Lose it permanent jewelry will be on site.
“The Concert in the Park series is a free, fun, family friendly event for everyone in our community,” said Lainey Paquette, executive director of MainStreet of Fremont. “We
have so much fun hosting this series.”
Abe Krasne Home Furnishings will sponsor High Heel the Band of Omaha on June 5. The band features lead singer Lisa Larsen and performs classic rock, pop, country, disco and ballads. Other band members include Jon Packard (bass and vocals), Cory Pawloski (lead guitar and vocals), Barry Stackhouse (keyboards), Skinny Webb (guitar and mandolin) and Todd Roberson (drums).
The Fremont & Dodge County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Business Improvement District and the City of Fremont will sponsor Aux Chord on June 12. Jenny Murnane-Rainey is on lead vocals and also plays keyboards and rhythm guitar. Chris Rainey, Tif Pilypaitis and Tim Kasl are other members of the Omaha-based band.
RVR Bank is sponsoring Shifting Gears on June 19. The band was formed in 2022 and features musicians from the Fremont, Scribner and the surrounding area. The band performs a variety of country and rock music.
Band members include: Jay Robb of Scribner on drums and vocals, Gary Heitshusen of Uehling on bass guitar and vocals, Steve Bauer from Norfolk on lead guitar and Mark Poole from Fremont on lead guitar and vocals.
The concert on June 26 will feature Whiskey River. The band is sponsored by the Dodge County Realty Group.
In 2023 and 2024, Whiskey River was named the winner of the Omaha Choice Awards for live band. The group, featuring lead singer David Bequette of Fremont, plays many modern hits.
Other band members are lead guitarist Michael Vieregge and bassist Patrick Whitlock.
The series concludes on July 11 with The SilverMoon Band. The group features many musicians with local ties, including drummer Dave Smith of Arlington, Fremont High School graduate Dave Smid of Lincoln on guitar, bassist Eric Johnson of Morse Bluff and keyboardist/flautist Erin Eairleywine-Ganzel, who is a FHS graduate. The sound man, Jeff Nelson, of Fremont. Also in the band is guitarist Stan Schmedding of Walthill.
The band covers the music of Johnny Cash, Linda Ronstadt and The Eagles as well as many others.
