Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area will again be accepting camping reservations after major upgrades were completed at two of its campgrounds.

Starting at 9 a.m. Thursday, guests can make reservations for arrivals between May 12-Oct. 18, the park’s peak season. All areas with reservable campsites become first-come, first-serve sites during nonpeak season.

Reservations can be made at OutdoorNebraska.gov.

More than $2.3 million was invested in Fremont Lake SRA’s Pathfinder and Victory Lake campgrounds, to modernize the park and improve the customer experience.

Upgrades included:

  • Electrical upgrades at 156 campsites;
  • The installation of nine Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant camping pads;
  • A new restroom/shower house at Pathfinder Campground; and
  • Dump station replacement.

Funds were provided by the American Rescue Plan Act and Land and Water Conservation Funds.
