The City of Blair has chosen its new police chief.
Jeremy Kinsey, who has served with the La Vista Police Department for 31 years, was chosen out of a pool of 19 applicants. Kinsey most recently served as La Vista’s operation commander overseeing the department’s Uniform Patrol Bureau.
Kinsey is replacing Joe Lager, who is retiring from Blair PD on April 11 after 40 years of service.
“Mr. Kinsey brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to public safety that will serve the City of Blair well,” Blair Mayor Mindy Rump said in a press release. “His extensive background in law enforcement, leadership skills, and dedication to community engagement make him the right choice to lead our police department into the future. We look forward to working with Chief Kinsey to continue ensuring Blair remains a safe and welcoming place for all.”
The Blair City Council will vote on Kinsey’s confirmation at the April 8 meeting.
