The Fremont Fire Department responded to a structure fire call at about 3:17 Friday morning in the 2700 block of Park Place Drive.
Captain Zachary Klein of FFD said that when firefighters arrived, they could see flames from outside on the porch.
“They had a fairly fast knockdown,” Klein said. “The damage was limited to the front porch and a bedroom.”
Klein said the cause of the fire remains under investigation with damages estimated in excess of $30,000. No injuries were reported. Firefighters returned to the station at about 5:39 a.m.
The captain said no mutual aid was needed, but off-duty shifts were called back.
