Fremont resident Rich Hirschman will give a presentation on Antarctica at 6:30 Tuesday night in the Keene Memorial Library Community Meeting Room.
The presentation is expected to last about 45 minutes, allowing time for questions at the end. The event, which is geared toward adults, is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
Hirschman retired in 2001 as a history and geography teacher at Fremont High School. In retirement, he has spent extensive time traveling with his family, solo, and often in tour groups. Hirschman has visited all seven continents and about 60 countries. To him, history is not just about memorizing names and dates, but the study of important events and how they connect with what is happening today.
