SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced its men’s basketball players of the week for contests played January 6-12, 2025. Midland University’s Jake Orr was selected as the GPAC Defensive Player of the Week while Tristan Smith of Concordia University earned offensive honors.
Orr, a junior from Omaha, Nebraska, had back-to-back double-doubles this week as Midland won a pair of conference road games. He pulled down 10 rebounds to go with three steals in the Warriors’ win at Hastings and then secured a game-high 11 rebounds in the upset win at No. 14 Morningside on Saturday. Offensively, he also reached 1,000 career points this week.
