Robert “Bob” William Hegemann, 89, of Fremont passed away, January 6, 2025, at Methodist Fremont Health.

Bob was born August 27, 1935, in Howells to Theodore and Dorothea (Heimann) Hegemann. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 until 1956. He married Alice Kaup on February 20, 1957, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Aloys. The couple moved to Fremont in March 1964.

Bob owned and operated Hegemann Construction. He was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fremont and Knights of Columbus. Bob helped remodel parts of the old St. Patrick Catholic Church and schools. He ran one of the successful Church festival booths and the cake walk for many years. Bob enjoyed calling bingo at St. Patrick’s.

Bob loved his family fishing trips, bowling and sponsoring bowling teams and he tended a large garden every year.

He is survived by his daughters, Doreen (Billy) Beautette of Fremont and Lorie (Joel) Scherling of Lincoln; sons, Steven (Jennifer) Hegemann of Lincoln and Paul (Laurie) Hegemann of Fremont; brother, Victor (Mary Ann) Hegemann of Texas; sister, Dorothy Hegemann of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; sisters in law, Pat Kaup, Doris Kaup, and JoAnn Hegemann; 16 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice; son, Allen Hegemann; and grandson, Nicholas.

The Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday, January 13, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fremont. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with a Knights of Columbus Living Rosary said at 7 following the visitation.

Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont.
