A fire Wednesday morning in the 700 block of East Military Avenue has left one person dead.
The Fremont Fire Department and Fremont Police Department responded to the fire at 7:42 a.m. Lt. Rick Schutt of FFD said firefighters were on the scene until 10:03 a.m. No mutual aid was needed.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Douglas County Crime Unit and Nebraska State Fire Marshal also responded to the scene. It remains an active investigation.
The name of the deceased is being withheld at this time.
