First Lutheran Church, 3200 East Military Avenue, is hosting a Christmas Nativity Event on Wednesday (Dec. 18).
The event is scheduled for 4 to 6 p.m.
The community is invited to see the animals of the Nativity and interact with those around the manger. Complimentary hot cocoa will be served and there will be a craft area for kids and horse and carriage rides.
The church is also offering an easy option for dinner. Chili or chicken noodle soup and cinnamon rolls will be served. It is also available to go. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children. All proceeds will benefit the church’s local mission partner C.A.S.A (Court Appointed Special Advocates).
“This is the fourth year we have held a similar event. We hope it’s another beautiful winter day. It’s a great way for families, friends and neighbors to come together to celebrate and connect with the story of Christmas,” Heidi Richmond of First Lutheran said. “We hope to continue to bring people together with the bonus opportunity to give back to the community.”
There will also be an option to worship, reflect and pray at the Pray-lude worship service. It is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. in the worship center for anyone who is interested.
