SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced the 2024 Women’s Soccer All-Conference team, as voted on by the league’s coaches. Midland University had three players named to the All-GPAC Second Team: Rosa Schellmann, Jaya Soor, and Addison Castellanos.

Rosa Schellmann, a senior midfielder from Siegen, Germany, tallied four goals and two assists this season. Head coach Keri Heedum praised her versatility and leadership. “Rosa has exceptional vision, skill, and adaptability. She elevates the play around her and consistently rises to the occasion in critical moments, delivering game-winning goals and key assists. She’s truly the team’s MVP!”

Addison Castellanos, a junior defender from Murrieta, California, scored one goal and recorded 11 shots on goal in 2024. Coach Heedum described her as the backbone of the defense. “Addison is the anchor of our backline—the calm amidst the storm. Her accomplishments are measured in stolen opportunities, fearless challenges, and the unwavering trust she inspires in her team as their leader.”

Jaya Soor, a senior midfielder from Derby, England, contributed six goals and one assist this season. Coach Heedum highlighted her creativity and work ethic. “Jaya is our creative force in the midfield. She consistently creates opportunities, scores game-changing goals, and brings a relentless determination that drives her to outwork everyone on the field. She’s the player every team would love to have.”

The Warriors finished eighth in the GPAC regular season with a 4-5-3 record. As the No. 8 seed in the conference tournament, they faced top-seeded and 2024 GPAC champion Hastings College in the quarterfinals, falling 4-0.
