OMAHA, Neb. – Midland University made a short trip to Omaha, Nebraska, to take on the College of Saint Mary in a Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) match on Saturday afternoon. CSM took the early lead, scoring two quick goals in the first half, and then converted a penalty kick in the second half, to earn the 3-0 shutout win.

The Flames took control early in the match, netting goals in the 22nd and 23rd minutes. Throughout the first half, they dominated possession, unleashing eight shots—four of which were on target—while Midland was held to zero attempts.

After halftime, the Warriors showed greater energy and controlled most of the final 45 minutes. A foul in the box in the 82nd minute awarded the Flames a penalty kick, which they successfully converted to push their lead to 3-0.

Although Midland outperformed the Flames in the second half, with 12 shots (5 on target) compared to the Flames’ 9 shots and 4 on target, the Warriors ultimately fell to a 3-0 defeat.

Midland (4-3-3, 4-3-3 GPAC) will travel to Seward, Nebraska for its regular-season finale as it takes on Concordia (10-5-1, 7-3 GPAC) next week. The match is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. start on Wednesday, October 30 at Bulldog Stadium. The Warriors are in search of a much-needed result to aid them in the GPAC Standings.
