Ardeth Caroline Sperling, 93, of Arlington passed away on October 25, 2024. She was born on March 2, 1931, in Herman to Paul & Edna (Kuss) Kuhls.

Ardeth was baptized, confirmed, and married at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hooper. She graduated in 1949 from Hooper High School. Ardeth married Donnie Sperling July 22, 1952 in Hooper. She worked at Gamble Skogmo while Donnie was serving overseas. Later she worked for the JC Penney Co. for 25 years.

Ardeth was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington. She was a church volunteer, belonged to the LWML and sang in the choir for many years. She was a member of the Town and Country Club, Koffee Klatch, Arlington VFW Auxiliary and was a 4-H leader. She also volunteered at Methodist Fremont Hospital for more than 20 years.

Ardeth is survived by her daughters LuAnn (Steven) Blea of Arlington, Susan (Pete) Johnson of North Platte, grandchildren, Nicole (Josh) Bruck, and Amelia and Greta Bruck of North Platte, Aaron (Alestin) Callaway, and Wednesday Callaway of Omaha, and Jamie (Kevin) Carpenter, and Ethan Carpenter of New Jersey; sister-in-law, Ardes Vance of Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Don, and son, Brent.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 31, 2024, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington. Visitation with family receiving friends will be 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington. Interment will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery.
