FREMONT, Neb. – Midland University hosted Mount Marty University on Wednesday evening for Senior Night, the final game of the regular season. After conceding an early goal, the Warriors rallied to secure a 3-1 victory, celebrating their seniors in style.

The Lancers took an early lead in the 11th minute with a goal from a free kick, making it 1-0. Both teams played aggressively, resulting in a flurry of fouls. Just before halftime, Midland equalized in the 43rd minute when Jaya Soor converted a penalty kick, sending the ball into the back of the net.

After the break, the Warriors intensified their offensive efforts. In the 57th minute, Arianna Reeves capitalized on a deflection off a Lancers’ defender, skillfully placing the ball past the goalkeeper to give the home team a 2-1 lead. Just four minutes later, in the 61st minute, Rosa Schellmann added a goal with an assist coming from Emily Fux. The match grew increasingly heated, with a player from each side receiving a second yellow card, reducing the field to 10 players each way for the final five minutes. Midland secured the 3-1 win over Mount Marty on Senior Night.

The Warriors dominated in shot attempts, leading 19-5 overall and 10-1 on target. The match saw a total of 29 fouls, including 7 yellow cards.

Midland (4-2-3, 4-2-3 GPAC) will make a short trip to Omaha, Nebraska, to face the College of Saint Mary (5-8-3, 4-4-1 GPAC) this weekend. The GPAC match is scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. start on Saturday, October 26, on the CSM campus.
