Roberta Rager, 68, of Fremont passed away Monday August 19, 2024.
Roberta was born May 21, 1956 in Buffalo, New York, to her parents, Henry Gawel and Grace (Tanner) Gawel. She grew up in Buffalo and attended grade school at PS43. Even though she was not Catholic, she attended and graduated from Archbishop Carroll High School, an all-girls high school in 1974.
After graduating high school, Roberta attended Yankton College in Yankton, South Dakota. Her third day on campus, September 3, 1974, she met a guy and asked him out (at least that’s HIS story). They dated during four years of college, and on May 28, 1978 Roberta and Chuck were married in Buffalo, New York.
Roberta and Chuck were blessed by God with their son, Ryan and their daughter, Rachel.
Roberta was an elementary school teacher with kindergarten and first grade as her specialties. She taught for many years in the South Sioux City school systems, as well as the Raymond Central and Ogallala schools.
Roberta is survived by her husband, Rev. Chuck Rager; son, Ryan; daughter, Rachel Klett (Brian) and grandkids, Zane and Lily.
Graveside Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the Dakota City Cemetery in Dakota City. Online condolences may be left at www.mosermemorialchapels.com.
