Mary Ann Paulger, 93, of Fremont died Friday, June 21, 2024, at Methodist Fremont Health.

Mary Ann was born March 9, 1931, in Mankato, Kansas, to Earl and Christine “Kirkpatrick’ Davenport. She attended school in Superior and Guide Rock and graduated from Guide Rock High School in 1949. Mary Ann married Charles Paulger on June 14, 1950. The couple moved for Charles’ construction jobs, settling in Fremont in the mid 1950s. Mary Ann received her degree from what is now Midland University and taught second/third grade at Cedar Bluffs schools until she retired after 24 years of teaching.

Mary Ann was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fremont and was a very active member. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Arbor Vitae Chapter #92, Delta Kappa Gamma and PEO Chapter HK.

Survivors:

Son – Scott (Nancy) Paulger of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Grandson Ross

Daughter – Debra (Jim) Peterson of Fremont

Grandson Tom (Jess) and their children Ethan, Connor and Hunter

Several nieces and nephews

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 2014, sister Irene (Virgil) Norwood and brother Gerald (Ike) Davenport.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the First Baptist Church in Fremont. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the church. Visitation will be Friday at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel from 3 to 7 p.m. with the family present 5 to 7. An Eastern Star Service, open to the public will begin at 7.
