April E. Leedom, 48, of Fremont died Sunday, May 5, 2024, at home after a courageous 12-year battle with breast cancer.

April was born March 26, 1976 in Fremont to Tom Crawford and Judi (Bales) Main. She grew up in Fremont and graduated from Fremont High School in 1994. April was a swimmer and played saxophone in the marching band. She was also a drum major her senior year. She attended UNL for a couple of years and then at 30 went to Vatterott College to earn a degree as a Veterinarian Technician.

Growing up, April had a Fremont Tribune paper route while in Elementary school and worked at Valentinos during High School. April worked at Expressway Food Mart in college and Time Warner Cable after that for 9 years. After college she began working at American Animal Hospital in Omaha, Natura Pet Products, Animal Medical Clinic in Fremont before landing her dream job at All About Pets in Omaha. April loved working for Dr. Jepsen and Dr. Callow and the entire staff who she considered good friends

April had many interests including roller skating (which she did on her paper route), biking, swimming, crochet, playing softball, bowling and shopping. She loved music and trivia so much that no one wanted to play Trivial Pursuit with her because she won every time. She loved taking family vacations to Colorado and South Dakota and the annual Great Wolf Lodge trips in December. The girls trips with Christie, Jen and Sarah were always a blast.
