Midland University Associate Athletic Director Steve Heimann has been placed on administrative leave following sexual assault allegations.
Heimann, 51, is charged in Dodge County Court with first-degree sexual assault and unlawful intrusion without consent.
An arrest warrant was issued Tuesday. Fremont Police Chief Jeff Elliott said at 4 p.m. Thursday that the warrant is still active and Heimann has not been arrested.
According to an arrest affidavit, in October 2023, a woman reported Heimann gave her sleeping pills and that she was later awakened to him sexually assaulting her using different objects. The woman said Heimann recorded the incident with her phone with the use of a tripod.
The affidavit said text messages between Heimann and the woman revealed Heimann deleted the video and admitted to giving her sleeping pills and having oral sex with her.
In a statement, Midland University said the charges do not involve anyone associated with the university and Heimann has been placed on administrative leave effective immediately.
“Midland University takes these allegations and the safety and security of our campus community very seriously,” the university said. “Midland will have no further comment at this time as the legal process plays out.”
