SIOUX CITY, Neb. – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced its softball player and pitcher of the week for contests played April 8-14, 2024. Aliyah Rincon, of Midland University, was named the GPAC Pitcher of the Week while Julia Van Wey of Concordia University picked up the player of the week honors.
Rincon, a senior from Granada Hills, California, began her week with a perfect game against Morningside in game one on Monday. She came on in relief in game two, earning her second win of the day. Over the weekend, she added two more wins to her conference-leading win total, with complete-game victories over Dakota Wesleyan and Jamestown. For the week, she tallied 33 strikeouts with only 9 hits allowed in 23.2 innings over five games while going 4-1 in the circle.
