Former Midland University athlete Dylan Travis has been named to USA Basketball’s four-member 3×3 team for the Paris Olympics.
Travis, a graduate of Omaha Gross, played for Coach Todd Eisner and the Warriors during his freshman season of 2012-13. After playing one year at Iowa Central Community College, Travis transferred to Florida Southern where he helped the Moccasins to the NCAA Division II championship during the 2014-15 season.
The 6-foot-3 guard has won numerous medals for Team USA during the past four years in 3×3, including a gold at the 2023 Pan American Games.
Travis will have some notable teammates joining him in Paris, including Jimmer Fredette. The former BYU standout was the 2011 NCAA Player of the Year. He played parts of six seasons in the NBA and also overseas.
Also on the team are Canyon Barry and Kareem Maddox. Barry is the son of NBA Hall of Famer Rick Barry, who led Golden State to a sweep over Washington in the 1975 NBA finals. The younger Barry played four seasons in the NBA G-League.
Maddox competed collegiately at Princeton and has extensive international experience for Team USA.
