HUSKERS SET AS NO. 3 SEED FOR TIAA BIG TEN TOURNAMENT

Lincoln – The Nebraska men’s basketball team will be the No. 3 seed for this week’s TIAA Big Ten Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament.

The Huskers will be off until the quarterfinals, when they will play Friday at approximately 8 p.m. (central). They will play either Indiana, Penn State or Michigan as the tournament seeds were determined following the conclusion of the regular season.

Nebraska finished the regular season with a 22-9 and has won five of its last six games following Sunday’s 85-70 win over Michigan. The 22 wins ranks as the second-highest total in school history, while the No. 3 seed is NU’s highest since joining the Big Ten in 2010-11.

No. 11 seed Penn State will play No. 14 Michigan in Wednesday’s opening-round matchup. The winner of that matchup will play sixth seeded Indiana Thursday evening with the winner playing Nebraska on Friday night.

All-session tickets for the 27th edition of the tournament are available for purchase at the Target Center box office or online at AXS.com.  Single-session tickets go on sale on Monday, March 11, at Noon (central) at the Target Center box office or online at AXS.com. The 2024 TIAA Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament continues to feature a discounted student ticket program. For the 2024 event, students of Big Ten universities may purchase tickets for $25, good for only the session or sessions featuring their school. Student section seating is available in the 200 level and orders are limited to one ticket per student. Details on the discounted student ticket program have been sent to the university ticket offices for distribution directly to students.

The Target Center in Minneapolis will play host to the tournament, marking the first time in the tournament’s 27-year history that it will be played in Minneapolis. The Target Center is home to the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves.
