SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced the softball player and pitcher of the week for contests played February 26-March 3, 2024. Aliyah Rincon of Midland University was named the GPAC Pitcher of the Week while Autumn Porter of Mount Marty University earned Player of the Week honors.
Rincon, a senior from Granada Hills, California, was nearly perfect twice this week. She took a perfect game into the 7th inning against No. 17 Ottawa, giving up a single with two outs. Then, against No. 11 Baker, an early single was the only blip on the Warriors’ ace. For the week, Rincon went 19.0 innings with 30 strikeouts while allowing just 3 hits and 2 walks. She currently leads the GPAC in wins (8) and strikeouts (74), and she ranks fourth in ERA (1.27).
