The field for the District 15 race of the Nebraska Legislature has become a little more crowded.

Four candidates are vying for the position currently occupied by Sen. Lynne Walz of Fremont. Walz is prevented from running for re-election due to term limits.

Dave Wordekemper announced his candidacy on Feb. 20. According to the Nebraska Secretary of State’s Office, he has been joined in the race by fellow Fremonters Anthony D. Hanson, Roxie Kracl and Scott Thomas.

Earlier this week several individuals filed for local offices.

Steven J. Hansen is running for the Fremont Board of Education while Ronald R. Giesselmann  is seeking the District 6 seat on the Dodge County Board of Supervisors. Current supervisor Dan Weddle announced recently that he will not be seeking re-election. Meanwhile, Jason A. Brown and Jeremy J. Schwanebeck have filed for the North Bend City Council.
