Tootsie Swartz, 77 years, of Oelwein, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at the Lexington Estates in Independence, Iowa.
Tootsie was born on May 28, 1946, to Eddie and Mabel (Swartz) Mason in Burt County, Nebraska. Tootsie loved fishing, baking, going to the casino and dancing. She enjoyed an ice-cold Pepsi and her cigarettes. Tootsie worked from home caring for her children Diane, Helen, Crystal, Eugene and Kenny most of her life.
She is survived by her daughters, Diane Mason of Iowa, Helen (Perry) Mason of Wisconsin, Crystal Woodard of Iowa; son, Kenny Freel of Iowa; grandchildren, Crystal, Tina, Samantha, Tony, Perry, Preston, Salena, Princton, Fateena, Blayze, little Eugene, Tom, Bullet, and Cheyenne; and over 24 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by three brothers, Willis, Roy and Johnny; and two sisters, Lucille and Annie Lou.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024 at Ridge Cemetery in Fremont. Visitation will be one hour prior to the burial at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont.
