Gilberta A. “Gilly” Racek, 76, of Morse Bluff, passed away Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023, at Methodist Fremont Health.
Gilly was born Dec. 27, 1946, to Kenneth and Frances (Schroeder) Gregg in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Gilly lived several places throughout her life in both Iowa and Nebraska, residing near Morse Bluff. On October 10, 1995, she married Keith Racek.
She enjoyed gardening, 4-H activities, and refereed for volleyball and basketball, and umpired for softball.
Gilly was a member of WFLA, St. Peter Lutheran Church in Noth Bend, Fremont Presbyterian Church, and the North Bend Golf Course. She loved her time with the birthday group in Linwood and playing cards with the ladies.
She was preceded by her parents; husband, Keith; sisters, Phyllis (Arnold) Smith and Madylon (Larry) Anker.
She is survived by her daughters, Kendra (Mark) Remington and Renee (Jeff) Robinson; sons, Gregg Dau and Clay (Michaela) Mueller; grandchildren, Kloey (Trevor) Cooley, Elizabeth Remington, Hunner Juzenas, Kennen Robinson, Parlar Robinson, Alisha Micek (Dallas Chaulk), Alexis Micek, Faith (Ben) Bluedorn, Alex Wagner (Imely Walls), Dru Mueller, Courtney Haswell, Camden Mueller (Mariah Barauskas), Hunter Haswell, and Katrina Schreiner; great grandchildren, Wrenlee, Klaira, Kiana, Hazel, Mia, Coy, Breccan, NovaLeigh, and one on the way; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 2023, at Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend. Chaplain Scott Jensen will officiate. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Moser’s at North Bend. Burial will take place at Killian Cemetery near Morse Bluff.
