The Three Rivers Public Health Department (3RPHD), in collaboration with the Fremont Family Coalition, is coordinating the inaugural Winter Resource Fair on Saturday.
The event is scheduled for 7 a.m. to noon at First Lutheran Church, 3200 Military Avenue in Fremont.
Officials said the purpose of the fair is to provide easy access to services, health education and community resources. More than 15 community organizations will be partnering to provide individuals with information about housing, education, wellness and other resources in the area.
“This will be a fun and amazing opportunity for community organizations to engage with individuals in our community around the many topics of healthy living and resources that are available within our community,” said Terra Uhing, executive director with Three Rivers Public Health Department. “Our hope is that residents can come to this event and find out what is available in the community and how to get in contact with that resource.”
The fair is open to the public and will have something for all ages, including:
· A1C screening provided by Methodist Fremont Health
· Flu/Covid-19 vaccinations
· Diabetes education
· Childhood immunization education
· Wellness resources
· Housing resources
· Transportation resources
· Other non-profit community organization resources
The event will also feature Santa Claus from 10 a.m. to noon. There will also be drawings for gift cards.
