Bonita J. St. Thomas, 74, of Fremont passed away Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023, at Dunklau Gardens. She was born Nov. 4, 1949, in Syracuse, New York. to Henry and Marjoria (Miller) Oeser.

Bonita grew up in Liverpool, New York, and graduated from Liverpool High School. She married James Edward St. Thomas on June 29, 1968, in Liverpool. She lived in New York, Nebraska and Georgia. He preceded her in death on Aug. 30, 1989. Bonita has lived in Fremont for the last 20-plus years. She worked as a CAN and later a cashier at Walmart, Hy-Vee and Village Inn.

Survived by her daughters, Tracy (Mathew) Szymanski, Christine (David) Baker all of Fremont and Kimberly (Michael) Hehn of Bonaire, Georgia; brothers, Gary (Judy) Gilbert of Fort Myers, Florida, and Hank (Zarndra) Oeser of Virginia; sister, Connie (Carl) Applegate of Cortland, New York; honorary son, Jeremy Curtis and best friend, Sally Ganem both of Fremont; seven grandchildren, Mark and Cortney Trumble, Garrett, Brianna, and Devon Baker, Jade Hehn and Emma Szymanski; and three great-grandchildren, Ariel and Serenity Trumble and Ronin Bautista, and a large extended family and host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; brother, Louis Gilbert; sister, Beverly Barry; grandson, Joseph Trumble and infant granddaughter, Klarissa.
