Terrence Michael “Mike” McGregor, 75, of Fremont passed away Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.
Mike was born on Dec. 13, 1947, to Ralph and Jennie (Dougherty) McGregor in Le Mars, Iowa. He graduated from Bishop Heelan Catholic High School in 1967 and attended Nettleton Business Institute in Sioux City, Iowa. Following college, he served in the United States Air Force. On May 7, 1977, Mike married Judy Erickson at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Lincoln.
Mike worked for FirsTier Bank in Lincoln after which he retired from Sandhills Publishing. Mike was an active member in several industry associations while working. After retirement, Mike and Judy enjoyed spending the winter months in Sun City Center, Florida. The remainder of the year was spent enjoying friends and family while floating at Summer Haven Lake in Fremont. He enjoyed watching his seven grandkids play in the lake from his porch swing. The July Fourth Boat Parade was always the height of Mike’s summer as he watched his children and grandchildren build amazing floats.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Murray and William McGregor.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; sons, Aaron (Amber) McGregor, Patrick (Mandy) McGregor, and Joseph (Kristin) McGregor; grandchildren, Nathan, Pete, Gavin, Calvin, Amelia, Samantha, and Connor; sisters-in-law, Fran McGregor and Janet McGregor; and countless life-long friends.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Lincoln. Father Timothy Cole Kennett will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with a rosary starting at 7.
Burial with honors will take place at the Omaha National Cemetery at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 20, 2023.
