Woman dies after being struck by pickup

A 38-year-old woman has died as a result of injuries suffered in a personal injury accident involving a pedestrian Monday night in Fremont.

At about 7:07 p.m., Fremont police and Fremont Fire and Rescue responded to the 300 block of West 23rd Street in reference to the accident. A preliminary investigation indicates that the woman was attempting to cross the roadway when she was struck by a westbound 2021 Chevrolet 2500 pickup that was driven by a 65-year-old man.

The male driver had no reported injuries. The woman, Zena Robley of Fremont, was transported to Methodist Fremont Health before being flown to UNMC in Omaha. She later died from her injuries.

Fremont Police Department accident reconstructionist and the Nebraska State Patrol investigated the accident which is still ongoing.
