Sandra R. Roth, 82, of Fremont passed away Sunday, Oct. 22, 2023, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha. She was born June 18, 1941 in Valentine to David and Grace (Vian) Weaver.
Sandra was the oldest of three daughters and spent most of her childhood on a farm. She was a 1959 graduate from Crete High School. She married Clifford Roth on January 22, 1961, in Crete. They came to Fremont in 1969. She worked for Campbell Soup Co. from 1969 to 1990 and then Sable Sewing Co. from 1990 to 1998 as a seamstress.
She was an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America from 1972 to 2015. Sandra Roth AKA “Mom” joined the scouting program in 1972 as a Den Leader and subsequently served as Den Leader Coach, Pack committee Chair, and Cubmaster. In 38 years of Scouting, she spent 12 years on Pow-Wow staff, 13 years as Cub Roundtable Commissioner, 15 years on the Goldenrod training committee, and 19 years on Woodbadge staff.
Mom received 3 different versions of the Scouter’s Key, Commissioner training with 3 arrowheads, a Master’s Degree from Commissioner College, and several other training awards. She is the recipient of the District Award of Merrit and is a member of the Silver Beaver class of 1981. In NANI BA ZHU, Mon is a Guardian of the Council Fire. Mom was Camp Cedars first Food Service Manager when the building was constructed in 1990. In 21 years, she had cooked for numerous OA conclaves and NANI BA ZHU events and served over 1.3 million meals to Scouts, Scouters, and Staff at summer camp. Sandy “Mom” Roth Kitchen was established in 1990 and dedicated on June 18, 2010. She also was a professional cake baker from 1973 to 2000 and taught cake decorating classes for Wilton.
She was awarded the Admiral in the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska on June 18, 2010.
She is survived by her husband, Clifford of Fremont; daughter, Irene Roth Renninger of Fremont; son, David (Kathleen) Roth of San Diego, California; granddaughters, Ariel (Tyler) Christensen and Adrianne Renninger; great-granddaughter, Aurora Rose Christensen; sisters, Audrey (Martin) Winter and Patricia Dybdall.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; great-grandson, Isaac Christensen; nephews, Mark Wilde and John Dybdall; son-in-law, David Renninger and brother-in law, Don Dybdall.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday Oct. 30, 2023, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, also at Moser’s. Interment will be at Ridge Cemetery in Fremont. Online condolences may be left at www.mosermemorialchapels.com.
