SIOUX CITY, Neb. – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has released its 2023-24 Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Preseason Poll. Midland University was picked 11th by the conference’s coaches while Morningside University, last year’s co-champion during the regular season, was picked to win the conference this season.
Morningside garnered five first-place votes which was tied by Northwestern College, who is picked second. Dordt University, last year’s conference tournament champion, was selected third. Rounding out the top five are the other co-champions from 2022-23, the University of Jamestown, and Concordia University.
In just over a week, Midland University will open its 2023-24 season with an exhibition at the University of Northern Colorado on Friday, October 27. The first official game of the season comes the following week at York University on Tuesday, Oct. 31. After a road trip to face Langston University the second weekend in November, the Warriors will host Briar Cliff in their home and conference opener on Wednesday, Nov. 15.
