A Fremont man will stand trial for the September death of an 18-year-old.

Doltyn Garule, 18, is accused of crashing his 2004 SUV into a wooden fence at about 5 a.m. Sept. 9 in the area of 400 South Ridge Road.

Ryan Littrell, 18, of Fremont was a passenger in the vehicle. He was taken to Methodist Fremont Health where he died as a result of his injuries.

Garule is accused of fleeing the scene of the crash. He was later located at a Rainbow Lake residence.

Authorities said Garule had a blood alcohol level of 0.101 — above the legal limit of 0.08 percent for drivers in Nebraska.

Garule is accused of motor vehicle homicide while driving under the influence of alcohol. The other charges he is facing include failure to stop and render aid, tampering with evidence, first offense DUI, obstruction and willful reckless driving.

Garule waived his right to a preliminary hearing and will make his first appearance in Dodge County District Court later this month.
