After the intermission, Midland got its momentum going as Madalyn Flynn put them in front with a goal in the 64th minute. Caytlynn Garland assisted on what would prove to be the game-winner
Shortly after, the Warriors boosted their lead to 2-0, as Aminata Lewis found the back of the net with an assist by Garland in the 80th minute. The strong defense from the first period remained in the second as Midland took the contest by a 2-0 score.
Hannah Tillison earned the shutout in goal. She went the full-time and picked up eight saves on the day.
“A tremendous second half by the girls led to a great team defensive effort. Our freshman came up huge, and our upperclassman really led the charge,” commented head coach Cody Bartlow. “Hannah [Tillison] was fantastic and goal, leading the shutout. The hard work from our forwards got us two great goals to beat a tremendously talented team. We will enjoy this one and then turn our focus to Jamestown and the GPAC.”
