Bergan VB wins Bergan Invite Saturday

The Bergan volleyball team won their own invite Saturday,  winning every set of the 3 matches they played.  The ladies are now 11-1.

Bergan started the morning with a 25-13 , 25-8 win over the Mead Lady Raiders.  Senior Paige Frickenstein had 10 points and 9 kills.   Claire Mlnarik had 10 set assists and 5 kills. Peyton Langhorst with 14 points, 5 kills, 1 block and 9 digs.  Sidney Meyer had 4 kills, 1 block and 11 digs.  Linden Nosal had 11 digs.  Tessa Powers with 10 set assists and 7 digs.

Next up, Nebraska City Lourdes. Bergan prevailed 25-17, 25-15.  Frickenstein with 11 kills and 12 digs.  Peyton Langhorst had 14 points, 5 kills, 1 block and 9 digs.  Claire Mlnarik with 10 set assists and 5 kills.  Tessa Powers , 10 sets assists and 7 digs.  Syd Meyer with 4 kills, 1 block and 11 digs.  Linden Nosal had 8 points and 2 ace serves.

In the Championship,  Bergan ladies took down Schuyler, 25-17, 25-13.   Paige Frickenstein with 10 kills, 15 digs.  Linden Nosal with 8 points and 5 kills.  Sydney Meyer with 7 points and 7 digs.  Peyton Langhorst 4 kills and 14 digs.  Tessa Powers, 8 set assists, 2 kills, 11 digs.  and Claire Mlnarik with 4 kills and 13 set assists.

Head Coach Sue Wewel said, “Our team defense and our serving are improving every week.  Claire and Tessa are settling into their roles on the right side of the court, running the offense. ”

The Bergan ladies have some big games this week, with a triangular at North Bend with Logan View on Tuesday, and a big matchup Thursday at DC West.  Big Dog radio will be broadcasting the Thursday match at DC West.
