LAMONI, Iowa – Midland University men’s soccer team traveled across the state border into Iowa, for a non-conference matchup against Graceland University. The Yellowjackets used a swarm of goals in the final minutes of the opening half as the Warriors suffered a tough 5-0 loss.

Graceland took a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 17th minute and then stung for three goals in the final five minutes of the first half. Goals in the 42nd, 43rd, and 45th minutes left the Warriors trailing 4-0 heading into the break.

After the intermission, the struggles continued as Midland failed to find any rhythm as the Yellowjackets assorted dominance offensively. Graceland added one more tally to the score with a goal in the 79th minute to earn the 5-0 shutout.

Marco Moresco and Hugo Sjoberg split time in the net. Each keeper picked up a save on the day in 45 minutes of action.

Midland (1-2) will return to home turf on Wednesday, September 6 when they take on York (0-1-1). The non-conference matchup is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. at Heedum Field in Fremont, Nebraska.
