The leadership of five Fremont nonprofits will spend the next nine months learning how to strengthen their organizations and increase their impact.

The Fremont Area Community Foundation recently announced the participants beginning its 2023-24 Nonprofit Leadership Program: the Calvin Crest Camp, Conference and Retreat Center; Dodge County Historical Society; Fremont Family Coalition; MainStreet of Fremont; and TeamMates of Fremont Public Schools.

The program is an exclusive nine-month engagement designed to help nonprofits address organizational and leadership capacity needs. It includes one-on-one executive director coaching, roundtable meetings with other executive leaders, and board leadership facilitation. Each organization also receives a capacity building grant of $5,000 to address needs such as strategic planning, technology improvements or professional development.

“The Fremont Area Community Foundation is keenly interested in nonprofit capacity building because we believe that strengthening our area nonprofits ultimately strengthens our entire community,” said Melissa Diers, executive director of the Fremont Area Community Foundation. “Our Nonprofit Leadership Program helps both new and long-time organizations reach for the next level of operational, programmatic, financial and organizational maturity, enabling them to meet an increasing demand for services.”

This is the fifth cohort of nonprofits to participate in the foundation program. Previous participants include: Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Bridge, Care Corps’ LifeHouse, CASA of the Midlands, Dodge County Humane Society, Fremont Area Art Association, Fremont Area Habitat for Humanity, Fremont Family YMCA, Fremont Ice Association, Jefferson House, John C. Fremont Days, Joseph’s Coat, Keene Memorial Library, Low Income Ministry of Dodge County, Rebuilding Together Platte Valley East, and Roots to Wings.
