Jack W. Lingle, 83, of Fremont passed away Monday, Aug. 21, 2023, at Shalimar Gardens in Fremont.

Jack was born on Jan. 21, 1940 to Ernest “Jack” W. and Doris (Lincoln) Lingle in Fremont. He grew up in Fremont and graduated from Fremont High School in 1958. On July 1, 1958, he married Barb Briggs in Wahoo. The very next day, Jack entered the United States Air Force and served until July 1, 1964. Following Jack’s time in the service, he worked 37 years and retired from Hormel Foods in Fremont. After retiring, Jack became a van driver for Nye Services.

Jack was a very active member of AA for 41 years. He enjoyed spending time at the Fremont Senior Center and the Fremont F.O.E. Eagles as a 65-year member. He also enjoyed bowling, dancing, and listening to polka.

Jack was preceded by his parents; son, Jeffrey; sisters, Lola Mae, Doris “Punk” Wolff, and Pat Wolff; grandson, Connor Kelley; and daughter-in-law, Denise Lingle.

He is survived by his wife, Barb; son, Brian Lingle; daughters, Susan Lingle and husband Tom Nagle, Jackie Lingle, and Allison (Jerry) Nelson; brothers, Steve (Cindy) Lingle and Mark (Kris) Lingle; sisters, Nancy Ellis and Luanne (Brian) McCarthy; grandchildren, Brandi, Dylan, Jordon, Elizabeth, Emily, Jack, Josh, and Bentley; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, 2023, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation with family receiving friends will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Moser’s in Fremont. Private burial will take place at Memorial Cemetery with military honors.
