Amy Ann Schaller of Fremont died unexpectedly in her home Aug. 14, 2023, at the age of 56.

Amy was born in Fremont on Dec. 21, 1966. She was the daughter of Mae Alvina Hansen-Gana Nevitt. She graduated from Fremont Senior High School in 1985. Following high school, she attended Midland Lutheran College. In 1990, she married Scott Schaller they had two children, Brittney and AJ. They separated in 2012.

She was employed at Valmont Industries since 2009 as a senior buyer. She loved her job and those she worked with. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, family, and grandkids. Amy loved watching Hallmark movies and The Game Show Network. Attending Aaliya and Noah’s sporting events were a highlight in her life. Amy will be remembered for her compassion, selflessness and her faith in Christ.

Amy is survived by her children Brittney (Derek) Ruiz and AJ (Taylor) Schaller; her siblings Layne Gana and Jodene Gana; her grandkids Aaliya, Noah and Amelia Ruiz; her aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Amy was preceded in death by her mother and brother Brett Gana.

Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont, with Scott Jensen officiating.

Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 2023, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Private family burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
