Mark Thomas Hartman, 55, of Fremont passed on to be with the Lord on Monday, July 24, 2023, at Buffett Cancer Center in Omaha.
Mark was born January 23, 1968, to Kenneth and Jackie Hartman of rural Fremont. He grew up with sisters Michelle and Patricia, and brother, Mike. One of their favorite activities was watching the weather changes, something that Mark enjoyed all his life. They also loved entertaining at their home swimming pool. He and his brother especially found interesting pastimes outdoors. Mark attended the Brugh Rural School through 6th grade, Archbishop Bergan , Fremont Junior High, and Fremont High for freshman and sophomore years. He received his high school diploma through ABEKA Academy. Mark first worked as shift manager at McDonald’s in Omaha. Then he trained customer service representatives in several states for Marriott Reservation Center before locating in Omaha as their customer service representative. He was a two-time national sales rep. of the year for the Marriott Company.
Mark married the love of his life, Delacia Marie Nelson, at Creighton on December 12, 1998. To this union were born three daughters, Alexa Marie, Alisha Janae, and Makenna Josephine. They named their unborn son, Marcus Brenn. The family welcomed Christyna Renee` Dewberry into their family in her teen years. They raised their family on an acreage near Fremont.
Mark was an operation support manager for Data Transmission Network for 21 years. Then in October 2021, he and Delacia purchased High Esteem Total Cleaning Service, based out of Arlington. Mark loved the customer service portion of his company, and was known to spend plenty of time visiting and befriending his clientele. He was blessed and honored to have Alexa and Alisha Hartman, Mike Hartman, John Alli, and Bruce Johnson help him with the business.
Mark had a passion for sharing the love of God. As a teenager, Mark was part of a group from Word Outreach Church that ministered to children with puppets and skits about the Lord. Many of the skits included demonstrations of how to live a life of honesty and integrity. The group eventually had a Sunday morning program on Channel 3 and at times traveled to other churches. He and Delacia have been longtime worship leaders at Living Word FCF in Fremont. They have also worked as children and youth group leaders. Mark has served in many different capacities as a support to the work of the ministry.
Earlier in life he enjoyed playing chess and golf. He liked to play Scrabble, Boggle, and Apples to Apples with his family, and didn’t want to miss watching a Dallas Cowboys game. You could always find him singing and dancing somewhere. At any family gathering he was always up for a sprint off, or a swimming pool basketball game.
Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents, and his unborn son, Marcus Brenn. He is survived by his parents Kenneth and Jackie Hartman; sisters Michelle Lee, and Patricia Seivert; brother Michael (Megan) Hartman; wife Delacia; children Christyna (Tony) Prochaska, Alexa, Alisha, Makenna Hartman; and grandchildren Octavia, Hezron, Solomon, and soon to be born, Jacques Prochaska; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends
