Eastern Nebraskans woke up to low visibility Thursday morning.

It wasn’t fog, but smoke that is lowering visibility and triggering an air quality alert.

There is no need to fear about a fire in Nebraska however According to the Associated Press, the smoke originated from wildfires currently burning in the western providence of Alberta, Canada.

Drivers experiencing low visibility due to the smoke should drive slower and use caution. An air quality alert has been placed across most counties in the state.
