Marzee Ann Conway, 82, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2023, at home surrounded by family.
Marzee was born on May 5, 1940 and was raised in Pender where she graduated high school, was married, and had her four children before moving to Ainsworth, then Fremont, with her first husband, Dave. Marzee earned a certificate in surgical technology and worked at Fremont Hospital, now Methodist, for more than 30 years. She took great pride in her job and was well respected by her peers. Marzee specialized in urology, working closely with Dr. Ansar Khan. Marzee and her husband, Ian, loved travel and adventure, visiting many countries, sight seeing, scuba diving, snorkeling and going on safari. Two of her favorite destinations were Hawaii and Greece which they visited many times. She loved animals, taking in many strays and volunteering for the Dodge County Humane Society and Good Dog Rescue, regularly donating to the ASPCA, and adopting elephants through the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Waldo and Louise Carlsten; brother, Kenny; sister-in-law, Artie; niece, Stacy; first husband, Dave; and numerous beloved pets.
Marzee is survived by her husband, Ian; son, David Temple; daughters, Gina Rozanek, Lana (Brad) Temple-Plotz, Leigh (Bill) Temple-Nanson; grandchildren, Logan (Dusty), Ethan (Jenna), Elliott (Kaia), Quinn, Tarynn (Jordan), Cortland, Sam (Nick), Anthony, Shalynn (John), Isabella, William and Avery; great-grandchildren, Jiselle, Lilly, Eric, Everett, Betty, Harper and Vivian.
Marzee’s visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 1 with services scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, March 2, both held at Dugan Funeral Chapel. Please come dressed to celebrate her life. Animal prints, bright colors and sequins welcome.
