Bonnie K. Forney, 77, of Fremont died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2023, at Methodist Fremont Health.
Bonnie was born Oct. 22, 1945, in Lewellen to Ben and Geneva ‘Truscott’ Fiesterman. She was raised on a ranch near Oskosh and graduated from Garden County High School in 1963. After high school she attended cosmetology school. She started working at Nebraska State Bank and worked there for more than 20 years. After Bonnie’s children were grown she went back to school. She graduated Cum Laude from Peru State College with a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in History. Bonnie then went into the ministry becoming a Pastor in the United Methodist Church until retiring and moving to Fremont to be closer to her children. After moving to Fremont, Bonnie worked for Country Traditions which is now Nebraska Quilt Company. She again retired in 2022.
Bonnie was a member of the Fremont Presbyterian Church, Arbor Vitae Chapter No. 92 Order of the Eastern Star in Fremont and was currently the Queen of Naamah Temple Daughter’s of the Nile No. 108 in Hastings. She loved her family, the Sandhills, Pro Football and John Wayne.

Son – Ben (Courtney) Forney of Omaha
Grandchildren – Faith (JD Cooley) Hanson, Jake (Lindsey Nelson) Hanson and Sawyer Forney
Brother – Ted Fiesterman of Lewellen
Sister – Barb Frazey of Bullhead City, Arizona
nieces, nephews and cousins
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents.
The Celebration of Life service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023, at the Fremont Presbyterian Church. Burial is planned for Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, (check funeral home website for time) in the Ash Hollow Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday with the family present from 6 to 7:30. An Order of the Eastern Star Service is at 7:30, all at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. Memorials may be directed to the family.
