Irene M. Klein, 77, of Winslow died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, at Saunders County Long Term Care Facility.

 

Irene was born July 18, 1945, in Omaha to Raymond and Cecelia ‘Reinig’ Gass. She was raised in Omaha and graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1963. She continued living in Omaha until she married Martin P. Klein on Nov. 12, 1966. They settled in Winslow in 1976 where they raised their family. Irene was a dedicated mother taking care of five children. Irene resided in the Saunders County Long Term Care facility since 2019.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Cecelia Gass, daughter Kathryn Klein DeNinno, brothers Keith, Kenneth, Howard, Donald, Charles, Leonard, George, John, William and sisters Barbara, Catherine.

 

Irene’s family will receive friends and family from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27 at Ludvigsen’s Hooper Funeral Chapel. The Vigil Rite (Wake Service) and Rosary will begin at 7. The memorial service will be held at 110 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, also at the funeral home in Hooper. Burial will be at the Hooper Cemetery after the Memorial Service, followed by a luncheon at Clay Center. Memorials are suggested to the Winslow Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, 309 Main Street, Winslow, NE, 60872.
