A Fremont man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for distributing child pornography.
U.S. Attorney Steven Russell said 24-year-old Jorgen Johannssen, of Fremont, was sentenced on Wednesday for distributing child pornography. Johannssen will serve 10 years in prison with a 10-year term of supervised release after his initial sentence. There is no parole in the federal system. He will be required to register as a sex offender and is ordered to pay $45,000 in restitution to a total of 15 victims.
According to court documents, a federal search warrant was used at Johannssen’s home in Fremont in August 2017. He was 19-years-old at the time and was found to have uploaded more than 20,000 images of child pornography.
Officials said agents from Homeland Security Investigations went back to Johannssen’s residence with a second search warrant in March 2021. Johannssen, now 22-years-old at this time, was found to have more than 290 videos and more than 400 images of child pornography. He admitted to downloading and distributing child pornography about a year after the first warrant.
