SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced the 2022 Men’s Soccer All-Conference team, as voted on by the coaches. Midland University had five players earn recognition after a successful season.
Alex Mee was named to the All-GPAC First Team while Dawson Butcher was selected to the All-GPAC Second Team. Connor Lambert, Patrick Long, and Thomas Moulder were all named honorable mentions.
“I’m really proud of the guys that were recognized by the conference,” commented head coach Josh Nakayama. “It was well-deserved for each of them. We hope to build off of the successes that we had as a team this year. There is a lot to be proud of, and we’ve got a strong base to begin with for next year.”
Midland had a solid season in 2022 with a 10-5-5 overall record. They finished fifth in the GPAC and won their first-round match on the road at Northwestern to reach the semifinals. With a solid core of players returning, they’ll be primed to expand upon their results in Coach Nakayama’s third year.
Hastings College’s David Panter and Brendan Dally were named the GPAC Offensive- and Defensive Player-of-the-Year, while Ryan Gresse of Dordt University was named the GPAC Coach-of-the-Year.
