A man wanted on a warrant in Colfax County was reportedly located with methamphetamine Tuesday morning in Norfolk.

At 8:37 a.m. Tuesday, a Norfolk Police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an alleged license plate violation. According to Norfolk Police Capt. Michael Bauer, the Nebraska license plate on the car had a homemade, blue colored, renewal tag, with a hand-written number on it. In addition, Bauer said, the plate did not belong to the vehicle.

The officer made contact with driver, who was identified as 36-year-old Gerald J. Hasebroock, of Norfolk.

A records check showed that Hasebroock had an active Colfax County arrest warrant. He was taken into custody. In a subsequent search, officers reportedly located a glass pipe that tested positive for methamphetamine.

Hasebroock was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and cited for fictitious license plates and no valid registration. He was held in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail
