Sheriff’s office probes Monday accidents

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a pair of injury accidents from Monday.

At 10:25 a.m., deputies were dispatched to Highway 30 and County Road 14 Boulevard.

A 2021 Kenworth tractor/trailer was headed westbound on Highway 30 attempting to turn north onto County Road 14 Boulevard when a 2006 Peterbilt tractor/trailer was following too close and rear-ended it. The Kenworth then overturned on its side.

Both drivers sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene by Fremont Rescue personnel. The highway had lane closures and delays for about four hours while the vehicles were removed by Arrow Towing.

At 12:34 p.m., deputies were dispatched to County Road P and County Road 21. After an investigation at the scene, it was determined that a 2001 International tractor/trailer was headed west on County Road P when it was struck from behind by a 2014 GMC Sierra that following to closely.

The International sustained minor damage while the GMC required towing from the scene with heavy front-end damage. The drivers of both vehicles were treated at the scene for minor injuries by Nickerson Rescue personnel.
