Fremont, NE- The Moo lose their 19th game of the season in a 6-1 loss to the Western Nebraska Pioneers. The Moo now move to 16-6 in the 2nd half 2.5 games up in first place(32-19 overall). The Pioneers move to 13-9 in the 2nd half with the win(29-19 overall).
The Moo would open up the scoring in the 4th inning when Ian Graf hit a double into the outfield scoring Zech Samayoa from 1st. That would be the only run of the ballgame for Fremont as Western Nebraska would score six in the ballgame. Those runs would come in the 4th to tie it back up at one before a four-run seventh would blow the game wide open and be the eventual go-ahead runs of the game. The Pioneers would add an insurance run in the 7th for the eventual final score of 6-1.
Evan Panjwani was the losing pitcher for Fremont going 5.1 innings, allowing five runs(four earned) on eight hits, and striking out four. Jerson Morales was the winning pitcher for the Pioneers going 2.1 innings, allowing no runs on two hits, and striking out three. The Moo will play the Pios in the final game of the series today at 7:35 PM CST looking to avoid the series sweep. The team will head to Hastings tomorrow at 6:35 PM CST to take on the Sodbusters in the final series of the regular season.
