Dickinson, ND- The Moo lose their 16th game of the season in a 10-5 reversal of Saturday night’s result to the Badlands Big Sticks. Fremont now moves to 7-3 in the 2nd half(23-16 overall) while Badlands moves to 6-5 in the 2nd half(23-16 overall).
The Moo would strike first in the 1st on an error by the Big Sticks 3B hit by Zane Skansi, who got to 2nd on the play, scoring Kanin Dodge. However, Badlands would take the lead for good in the bottom of that inning with three runs. They would end up scoring one in the 2nd/6th/8th and two in the 3rd/5th to get to ten runs.
For the Moo, they would score two in the 3rd on a Skansi fielder’s choice and error by the Big Sticks 3B on the same play that scored Ben Higdon and Evan Rowe. Skansi would be the jumpstarter in the 9th when he hit a two-run bomb to left field that scored himself and Higdon. Marco Ibarra was charged with his first loss of the season for the Moo going four innings, allowing six runs on ten hits, and striking out two. Steve Marhefke was credited with the win for the Big Sticks going 5.1 innings, allowing no runs on three hits, and striking out six in the process.
The Moo and Big Sticks will play one more time tomorrow at 7:20 PM CT for the rubber match of the series before a ten-hour bus ride back home to Fremont.
