Fremont, NE- The Moo get their 21st win of the season and 5th in a row in a 9-5 win over the Hastings Sodbuster. Fremont now moves to 5-1 in the 2nd half of the season(21-14 overall) while Hastings moves to 2-3 in the 2nd half(16-16 overall).
The Moo would once again open up the scoring in the 1st on an Austin Baskin two-run shot to left field that scored Kanin Dodge as well to make it 2-0. One more in the 4th for the Moo on an error by the Busters 2B made it 3-0, but Hastings would score four in the 5th to take the lead albeit for that half-inning. Fremont would come back in the bottom of that inning with four of their own sparked by a Zech Samayoa double that scored Baskin and Jason Axelberg, then a Tyler Harrington double scored Samayoa, and finally, a sac-fly by Dodge scored Harrington.
Fremont would get one in the 6th on a Bentley Boekhout single that scored Zane Skansi, then one in the 7th on a solo HR by Kanin Dodge to make it 9-4. Hastings would get one more in the 8th to get within four but that would be all that they could muster for the final score of a Moo 9-5 win. Dodge went 2-3 with two RBIs and two runs, Baskin went 2-5 with two RBIs and two runs, and Samayoa went 1-4 with 2 RBIs and a run.
Nick Balch gets his first win as a Moo pitcher going five innings, allowing four runs on four hits, and striking out six.
